Captain Bob Turner
Captain Bob Turner has considered beaver island and its surrounding waters his second home, and first love, since he first visited as a boy of 12-years-old. Captain Bob spent 30-years on the Detroit metropolitan airport fire department, where he rose through the ranks to achieve battalion chief/paramedic. Retiring in 2015, the island was still calling and calling for more. Captain Bob and his wife Maura decided to pack-up and finally make their second home their main home.
It seems that Captain Bob has been preparing for island life all along. He has spent a considerable amount of time on the great lakes and many inland lakes as a pleasure-seeker and as crew on the Wendy Ann (a commercial tug boat) as well as other commercial boats. He is also certified as a master scuba diver. Captain Bob earned his USCG-licensed captain on vessels up to 100-tons certification in 2016.
